They are products of the weavers art practiced for centuries by the native craftsmen of Bangladesh, with rich colors and authentic designs rooted in over 3500 years of tradition. Jute rugs date from the very beginning of rug weaving. They were used extensively in the 17th through the 19th centuries throughout the old British Empire.
2.	What is Jute?
	Jute is a primary resource fiber, produced directly from the earth and is cultivated as a sustainable resource. The inner fibers of the jute stalk are very soft after retting, cleaning and combing and being spun into yarn.
3.	How durable are Earth Rugs?
	Jute is one of the strongest natural fibers known to man. It was used as rope on seagoing ships before the invention of steel cables. Woven into rugs, Bangladesh jute fibers provide lasting beauty and value. They withstand commercial use and will last a lifetime in the home.
